Choosing Kitchen Cookware Sets

When it comes time to choose between kitchen cookware sets you may be overwhelmed. Unless you do a bit of reading or are on a cooking forum it may not be easy to know which type of cookware to buy. My favorite kitchen cookware sets, the one I own is enameled cast iron.

My kitchen cookware set is Le Creuset. I've had the set for about fifteen years now. It's dinged and has some of the enamel worn away in spots, but it still works well and the loss of enamel in some spots in no way effects the cookware, nor is it hazardous to your health. This is extremely heavy weight cookware. I like the way it heats up quickly and the way that it stays hot. Even my husband noticed the difference in how hot the food is out of the enameled cast iron when compared to his aluminum pots. Another great enameled cast iron kitchen cookware set is Chasseur from France. Staub is another fine brand of cast iron cookware.

My husbands aluminum cookware is lightweight and thin. It was perfect for a bachelor who has a convection oven/microwave oven. I'm sure it's a set he purchased at Target cheap. It's Farberware. Farberware makes very moderately priced kitchen cookware sets. Chefmate and Metro aluminum kitchen cookware sets are also sold at Target. If I'm in a hurry to boil water I will use the aluminum cookware because it heats up so quickly. If I really want to cook the way I like I stick to the Le Creuset.

If you want non stick Calphalon is the best brand. I own a Calphalon one nonstick frying pan, it's one of the best investments I've ever made. It was probably $75 on sale, but it works like a dream. You can literally rinse anything out of the pot without effort at all. Calphalon has several different types of kitchen cookware sets available. There are differences between non stick cookware and anodized cookware. Some prefer Calphalon One Infused Anodized kitchen cookware sets. What you will get from these that you won't from non- stick is those tasty bits on the bottom that are so important to flavoring of sauces and gravy.

Today a lot of famous chefs have their own like of kitchen cookware sets. Mario Batali has an essentials cast iron cookware set. Emeril has a large line of stainless steel cookware available. Rachael Ray has kitchen cookware sets. Hers are hard anodized aluminum with nonstick surfaces.

When you're making any purchase, even when you're looking at kitchen cookware sets buy how you cook. There is no reason to buy the most expensive cookware, nor is there any reason to shy away from more expensive brands. Our mothers and grandmothers put out fabulous dinners in aluminum pots for many years. Perhaps you could splurge on one or two good pieces of cookware. Buy the sizes you use the most. That way you'll know if you like the cookware enough to buy the rest of the set.
